We are speech therapists, or you may also hear “Speech Language Pathologists”. Speech therapy is a growing field and covers many areas of the throat, brain and head. Here at Iowa Speech Solutions, we are specialized in adult based speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallow treatment. Cognitive treatment refers to areas of thinking, such as memory, attention, and problem solving.

You may wonder what this looks like. We begin with what is called an evaluation. The speech therapist will complete a session with you and your support team to build a plan and create goals that are meaningful. We analyze the evaluation together as a team and keep committed to functional outcomes.

Therapy sessions are set to meet not only the client’s needs but consider progress toward chosen goals. We communicate on these goals often and can change and progress them when needed. We enjoy providing education and home practice programs. We want you to feel understood, challenged and confident in therapy.
